Degenerate Curve Attacks - Extending Invalid Curve Attacks to Edwards Curves and Other Models
Invalid curve attacks are a well-known class of attacks against implementations of elliptic curve cryptosystems, in which an adversary tricks the cryptographic device into carrying out scalar multiplication not on the expected secure curve, but on some other, weaker elliptic curve of his choosing. In their original form, however, these attacks only affect elliptic curve implementations using ad...
متن کاملCognitive Neuroscience: Distinguishing Self from Other
Neurons in medial frontal cortex have been found to distinguish between whether an animal or its partner is responding on a turn-taking task, but are they really the basis of a social learning mechanism?
متن کامل3-designs Derived from Plane Algebraic Curves
In this paper, we develop a simple method for computing the stabilizer subgroup of a subgroup of D(g) = {α ∈ Fq | there is a β ∈ Fq such that β = g(α)} in PSL2(Fq), where q is a large odd prime power, n is a positive integer dividing q − 1, and g(x) ∈ Fq [x]. As an application, we construct new infinite families of 3-designs (cf. Examples 3.4 and 3.5).
متن کاملRecovering Plane Curves from Their Bitangents
1.1. It is well known that a general plane curve of degree d has 12d(d − 2)(d − 9) distinct bitangent lines. The first (and most) interesting case is that of a smooth plane quartic X , whose configuration of 28 bitangents we shall denote by θ(X), to highlight the correspondence with the odd theta-characteristics of X . The properties of θ(X) have been extensively studied by the classical geomet...
متن کاملOn Complete Arcs Arising from Plane Curves
We point out an interplay between Fq-Frobenius non-classical plane curves and complete (k, d)-arcs in P2(Fq). A typical example that shows how this works is the one concerning an Hermitian curve. We present some other examples here which give rise to the existence of new complete (k, d)-arcs with parameters k = d(q − d + 2) and d = (q − 1)/(q − 1), q being a power of the characteristic. In addi...
